Welcome to Blue Manor Jewelry

Welcome to Blue Manor Jewelry! I’m so glad you’re here.

Jewelry has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the family jewelry business, an old-fashioned, on-site design and repair fine jewelry store where there was always something to do and something new to learn. And when I say I had a hand in just about every aspect of the business, I mean it.

From sweeping the sidewalk to working at the repair bench, from selling diamonds to designing custom jewelry, I’ve experienced the jewelry business from nearly every angle. It was a wonderful education in craftsmanship, customer service, gemstones, and the many ways jewelry becomes part of people’s lives.

But my favorite part has always been the people.

Every Jewelry Collection Has a Story

I’ve always loved meeting people and learning about their jewelry collections. A ring might be an engagement ring passed down through generations. A brooch might have belonged to a grandmother who wore it every Sunday. A curious little pendant might turn out to have a fascinating history of its own.

And sometimes, a piece is simply something someone fell in love with years ago and has never stopped wearing.

I love hearing those stories. I love looking closely at the details, figuring out what makes a piece special, and asking the questions that lead to a deeper understanding of its history.

That curiosity led me to pursue formal gemological education. I earned my Graduate Gemologist Diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), which gave me a deeper understanding of gemstones and the science behind what makes them unique.

I’m also a member of the American Society of Appraisers, a professional organization with an important role in the appraisal world.

Today, I work full time in jewelry valuation services, combining technical knowledge, careful research, and a love of jewelry to understand and evaluate the pieces that come my way.

Blue Manor Jewelry is another way for me to share my love of jewelry with a wider audience.

My Blue Manor shop started on Etsy where I brought together fun finds, unusual pieces, and great deals—especially those one-of-a-kind treasures that deserve to be seen by more people. Today, I am expanding my shop to include this website as well as my physical location at 147 Maine Street in Brunswick.

Not every treasure needs to be rare or expensive to be special. Sometimes the joy is in discovering something unexpected, beautifully made, or just right for you.
